Alliance adds new jets and a new base
It has been a busy few months for Alliance Airlines, with the charter carrier announcing in March and April the establishment of its fifth operating base as well as the acquisition of eight additional Fokker 100s.
The carrier, which has built up a major reputation in the resource and ad hoc charter sectors with a fleet of 100 seat Fokker 100s and 52 seat Fokker 50 tubroprops, began operating from a new base at Cairns on May 3. The new base sees two Fokker 100s, engineering support and administration office supporting a growing number of flights from the northern Queensland city.
