Dc6b For Australian Joy Flight Visit
The last DC6B built is to visit Australia next year to help celebrate Australia’s 100th anniversary of powered flight.
The big Douglas airliner is to come to Australia from Africa where it is registered as V5-NCG in Namibia. Photos show the aircraft with a single isle and nicely decked out cabin 2X2 seating. The exterior of the aircraft is part polished metal and the rest a white and blue colour scheme.
It is understood that CASA has given at least initial approval for the nine week flying visit during which the aircraft will be available for joyride work to show Australians what a yesteryear airliner is all about. Australia had more than a dozen DC6B airliners in operation over the years.
