MacAir fails as resources industry slides

Another established aviation name vanished in February when it was announced that Queensland regional airline MacAir would be liquidated, as other regional operators struggle with dealing from the fallout of the slowing resources industry.

In many ways, it capped off a busy 12 months for MacAir carrier, which appeared to be a star performer among the regional airlines, serving the mining industry as well as a number of subsidised and commercial RPT routes.
