Boeing Has Announced a Further Six Month Delay to the 787 Program Which Now Sees the Aircraft’s First Flight Delayed Until the Second Half of 2009 and First Deliveries to Take Place in the First Quarter of 2010 – About Two Years Late.
Boeing Attributed the Latest Delay to the Impact of the Two Month Machinists’ Strike and the Need to Replace Incorrectly Fitted Fasteners on Early Production 787s.
