Geoff Dixon reflects on his time as Qantas CEO
“It’s as tough as I’ve ever seen it,” Geoff Dixon observed of current airline market conditions.
But now, for the first time in eight years, the 68 year old is not at the head of Qantas to lead the airline through yet more turbulent times.
“I think Alan and the guys are going to have a big job,” Dixon told Australian Aviation in one of his last media interviews before handing over the chief executive officer role to Alan Joyce on November 28. “I think it’s going to be tough,” he said. “I think it’s safe to say no-one knows how deep this will be and no-one knows how long it’s going to go for.”
