Unwrapping the green paper
For an industry constantly buffeted by change, from that perspective the aviation Green Paper can be welcomed as it proposes little in the way of wide sweeping reform.
The Green Paper – detailed from page 22 – sets out the government’s planned initiatives for its forthcoming National Aviation Policy, now due for release in the second half of 2009. That we have had this process is to be welcomed, with the government able to take account of the views of nearly 300 companies, industry associations and individuals, giving the minister and policy makers much greater visibility of the challenges facing aviation.
