It’s Big, But How Big?
As one of the lucky 70 or so passengers (mostly Qantas staff, media and Qantas guests like designer Marc Newson and chef Neil Perry – but not, perhaps surprisingly, Qantas CEO Geoff Dixon or his successor Alan Joyce), your editor had plenty of time to ponder the significance of the Airbus A380 during the delivery flight of Qantas’s first double-decker giant from Toulouse to Sydney over September 20/21.
The ‘aeroplane nerd’ in me was really excited to be aboard and be a small part of such a significant piece of aviation history. Given that I was there representing the magazine and its readership, I hope you feel the coverage we’ve given in this issue to the delivery and the A380 in general took full advantage of that opportunity.
