Airspace Management
Melbourne Ground
Phil Vabre lives in Greensborough in Victoria, and had a thought that this story might be of interest. It involves the drivers of the tractor tugs that tow aircraft, and this particular story has its dateline at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport. I’m particularly glad to run it, as since my tug crewman friend at Sydney (Ray Ring) retired, we haven’t had many stories from this forgotten area of aviation. The frequency is 121.7 MHz, “Melbourne Ground”.
TUG: (wanting to know the position of an inbound Air Nauru aircraft) “Ground … do you know how far away Nauru is?”
