After almost a year of having the position vacant, Hazelton Airlines has appointed Rod Nelson as its General Manager. Ansett Australia has appointed Capt Alf Gloster Director of Flight Operations, while its new state managers for NSW and SA respectively are Peter Rowe and Paul Donovan. Dassault has a new resident representative in Australia, Olivier de l’Estoile. Barry Mayo is the new General Manager of Qantas subsidiary Airlink. Qantas has appointed George Elsey Group General Manager Customer Services and Organisational Development. Southern Air Transport’s new Director of Sales Pacific Rim Region is Michael R Vogt.

Bottom Line

TNT recorded a $34.8m profit after abnormals on equity consolidated revenue of $4.65bn for the nine months to March 31. A $38m loss before abnormals for the March quarter alone has been attributed to a drop in earnings in 50% owned Ansett (abnormal gains reduced the loss for the quarter to $4m).
