Definitely the Lighter Side of Aviation!

Airborne Troops.

This little story emanates from the protracted bush war that raged on, largely unnoticed by the outside world, during the late 1960s and right through the 1970s in Rhodesia (now) the independent state of Zimbabwe).

As a common practice then, after initial contact was made with the en- emy by ground forces, an airborne “Fire Force” consisting of crack, sea- soned troops would be airlifted to the battle area to support the frienalies.
