shares. To this end, the holding company will purchase half of the 10. 6 million shares owned by the Dutch government as well as 13. 2 million new Fokker shares. In addi- tion, the holding company will buy the remaining 5. 3 million Dutch government shares which will receive a 229% participa- tion in the holding company in return.
DASA will then own 78% and the Dutch government 22% of the holding company, the latter then selling its 22% to the holding company in three years time. At that point DASA will own 100% of the holding com- pany, although the possibility exists for partners to come in. The name Fokker will be retained and the current final assembly lines at Schiphol will remain in place.
Australian Tow Tractor Success:
Singapore Airlines has ordered seven Australian designed and built Bliss-Fox F1-450 aircraft towing tractors, the company’s first export order since major restructuring The $400,000 tractors are recognised as world leaders and feature four wheel drive and steering giving them excellent handling traits when towing large aircraft including the 747, even over sloping or wet surfaces. The tractor also has the ability to tow aircraft over long distances, making it ideal for retrieving stranded aircraft.
Further sales are under negotiation with a number of Asian carriers including Garuda, MAS and Philippine Airlines, which should provide a healthy boost for the company. Bliss-Fox is also offering a range of smaller tugs including the F1-210 for aircraft of the 737 class. A specialised tractor capable of towing large military transports over broken ground is also available.
