British Aerospace Australia Wins $7. 2M Contract to Improve Australian Air Defence Assets

A new system which will dramatically improve secure data communications for the Australian Defence Force’s air defence and airspace control assets is now under contract to British Aerospace Australia (BAeA).

The contract, under a project known as ‘Link 11’ is worth $7. 2m, and is to supply a computerised interface system for all RAAF Air Defence units. This applies to the RAAF P-3C Orion long range patrol aircraft based at Edinburgh, SA, and also to RAN’s warships. But it will also give the major improvements in air defence/control capabilities to more easily operate with Allied forces, particulary those of the USA and the UK.
