 A320 Approached Slowly:

Unofficial statements by French civil aviation authority staff have indicated the Indian Airlines Airbus A320 which crashed on final approach to Bangalore airport in February this year may have been flying as slowly as 106kt (196km/h) as it passed through 100ft, well below the usual speed at that height of about 130kt (240km/h).

According to information apparently gleaned from Indian officials who have studied the A320’s flight data recorder (FDR), the aircraft descended very rapidly while reducing airspeed. The pilot flying the aircraft at the time was undergoing type conversion checks and had twice before failed similar tests at Airbus’ training facility at Toulouse.
