Boom to Continue:

According to Boeing’s latest market predictions, the current boom in new airliner sales is set to continue.

Boeing’s new Current Market Outlook predicts the value of the commercial aircraft market to be $US626bn between now and the year 2005, comprising 9,935 commercial jets of all types. Last year the company’s forecast for the same period was 7,838 aircraft worth $US490bn. If current trends continue, Boeing can expect to win 54% of that market, Airbus 22%, McDonnell Douglas 18% and the rest 6%.
