TAA Introduce Human Factors Course
TAA Pioneer Human Factors Course To Enhance Cockpit Communication
TAA has introduced a flight crew training program that applies management principles to the flight deck.
The airline believes that by introducing flight crew to this programme they will provide the means of minimising what is recognised as the major cause of aviation accidents and incidents throughout the world. Known as Aircrew Team Management (ATM), the program has been devised in association with the University of Queensland Management Education Research Unit.
After more than a year of preparation, ATM training for the airline’s 600 flight crew began last November and will be completed about the middle of this year. Crews of Captains, First Officers and Flight Engineers in groups of about 15 each will attend the three-day intensive sessions in Melbourne.
