1985 Australian Ultralight Directory

Welcome to this, the second Ultralight Directory to be presented in Australian Aviation. Keen observers will note that this list has been greatly expanded on last year’s effort which reflects the large number of different ultralight models currently available on the market. W£?! have listed some imported craft that to our knowledge were not available locally at time of going to press, we are sure though that these too will become available as soon as 95. 55 is promulgated and so include their data for future reference. We also list a number of two-place trainers (denoted by a (T} beside their name) as these are also becoming a major force in the US market and are of specific local interest A word of caution regarding ultralight performance figures. As all pilots appreciate, there are always a set of variables at work to ensure your aircraft performs differently from day to day. This is particularly so with ultralights where pilot weight, air temperature, altitude, wind speed, etc. can alter the listed performance figures by as much as a third. We would also like to add that in some of the lower production rate aircraft different engine types are available, again a factor that greatly alters performance from that quoted in the brochure.
