Skyfox Ushers In New Era For T-33 Jet Trainer

‘Necessity is the mother of invention,’ it is said, and one can hardly dispute that age-old saying when examining aviation’s latest jet trainer.

Skyfox Industries has been formed core of retired Lockheed senior executives and engineers who saw a potential market for refurbished Lockheed T-33 jet trainers. At the time Portugal’s international airline, TAP, had purchased Tristars and Lockheed were busy examining the most effective means of fulfilling their offset agreement with the Portuguese government. Enter the Skyfox idea and a launch order for the Portuguese Air Force of 20 aircraft to be locally assembled at Lisbon.

Skyfox is more than a refurbished T-33 though.
