Until recently one of GA’s most under-appreciated types, the Pipe PA-28-236 Dakota is at last tired of hiding its light under a bushel and is making a strong bid for top billings . . .

Although the type is a strong one, lacking in vices and willing to try anything twice, the Dakota (ex-Pathfinder, ex- 235, ex-Charger) has for some unaccountable reason been second place to Cessna’s 182 Skylane in past years.

A strong climber and an excellent weight-lifter, Piper’s Dakota is now the subject of a marketing drive by Australasian distributor Ansett General Aviation.
