Qantas A380 Fergus McMaster - 24 August 2009Qantas is not expected to take its next two Airbus A380s until December following “flight stability problems” encountered with one of the aircraft, The Sydney Morning Herald has reported.

The airline has confirmed that one of the A380s will undergo further testing at Toulouse after encountering the problems during routine flight testing, the newspaper reported. The issue is reportedly be related to the aircraft’s “flight trim”.

”Qantas has robust contractual provisions in place with all aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus, that govern tolerances around aircraft specifications, including flight trim,” an airline statement was quoted as saying. It added that Qantas was not expecting “any commercial impact” from the delay as it was yet to publish schedules for the two A380s.
