Boeing completes Vigilare testing

written by australianaviation.com.au | July 24, 2010

Boeing has announced that operational testing of the RAAF’s Vigilare command and control system had been completed at the Northern Region Operations Centre (NROC) at Tindal.

The operational testing demonstrated the system’s ability to connect networked assets such as F/A-18 Hornets, AP-3C Orions, Navy frigates, and other sensors and data sources simultaneously. “This milestone is the culmination of six years of hard work by the Commonwealth, Boeing and our supplier networks, and we continue to be on-target to deliver Vigilare’s full network-centric-warfare capability to the RAAF by mid-2011,” Arthur Mamalis, Boeing Defence Australia’s program director for Project Vigilare said in a statement.
