The 17-year-old 747-438 now joins thousands of other aircraft being stored at the boneyard due to the coronavirus pandemic.


The 17-year-old Boeing 747-438 will depart LAX at 2:30am (AEDT) Saturday morning to head to its final resting place at the notorious Mojave Desert boneyard.


The now-iconic design measured 275 kilometres east-west and 250 km north-south and took just under 90 minutes to complete.
