Operation Sea Guardian 22 aims to deter terrorism and enhance capacity-building in the region. The aircraft will be based in Italy, operating in the western and central Mediterranean until mid-October 2022. 

Qantas first began legal action against Nick Rohrlach in March 2021 after he accepted a senior role at Qantas Frequent Flyer, before ultimately taking the top job at Virgin Velocity.

The airline said it was the biggest principal partnership deal in the club’s history, and will also see its branding featured in stadiums and on its website.

During the pandemic, the airline briefly became the world’s largest global carrier and even increased capacity into Australia in March 2020 as rivals ground aircraft.

The newly-acquired company currently owns and operates a fleet of special mission 30 & 60 series Learjet and Kingairs, providing support services to Defence.
