China Eastern Airlines became the first of the major airlines to return, resuming regular flights from Shanghai on Tuesday.

CEB is set to relaunch the Melbourne to Manila service at the end of March, using the airline’s fleet of Airbus A330’s, which can carry between 436 and 459 passengers per aircraft. The route will operate three times a week.

Capping off a week of mid-air woe is flight QF887, which on its journey from Adelaide to Perth, turned back after 45 minutes in the air.

The UAE based airline will be adding a third daily service from Melbourne to Dubai, stopping at Singapore on March 26, before adding a daily direct flight from Sydney to Dubai on May 1.

Jetstar’s woeful recent performance continued in December, with the airline now being the worst for departure and arrival delays and cancellations.
