Skyports and Wagner will look at potential vertiport sites in Wagner’s real estate portfolio around South-East Queensland and collaborate with potential electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operators, including Wisk, to find locations and support advanced air mobility (AAM).

The $217 million precinct will be located between the airport’s two parallel runways and will house aircraft and resources for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, LifeFlight, Retrieval Services Queensland and Queensland Police Service Aviation Capability Group.

In a statement, the transport safety watchdog said its investigators were expected to complete their evidence collection phase on Wednesday as part of their probe into the crash of Nautilus Aviation helicopter VH-ERH.

Nautilus said the employee had “gained unauthorised access” to the helicopter hangar and “misappropriated” one of the Robinson R44 aircraft, hours after a party had been held among staff to celebrate his promotion.

The union said these workers are among the lowest-paid in the industry, with some receiving base pay of just over $50,000 annually, and could receive pay rises of more than $10,000 if the applications are successful, bringing their pay in line with Jetstar’s directly-employed cabin crew.

The airline, which had also been considering the Airbus A220-100, has ordered eight of the second-generation E-Jets, with the first to be delivered from the second half of 2025.
