Melburnians may be able to book a ‘flying taxi’ via an Uber-style app in just five years’ time after Embraer signed a landmark agreement to bring the tech to the Victorian capital.  

According to a BITRE report, a total of 31.8 per cent of all scheduled flights were cancelled in July, or 9,351 flights, following June’s record-breaking 9,406 flight cancellations.

From Tuesday, Qantas will offer all fully-vaccinated Australian frequent flyers a choice of three prizes via the Qantas App, while 10 lucky winners will secure free flights, accommodation, and fuel for a year.
