The shadow home affairs minister has said he was “startled” by Senator Andrew Giles’ admission that released immigration detainees are being monitored by drones.

While the neural network remains a work in progress, Charles Sturt University researcher Dr Ivan Maksymov believes it could be put into use at the Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) at Wagga Wagga.

The new online portal will be used by up to 600 organisations, including airports, air traffic control and those involved in flight planning.
