The first aircraft to feature Aircalin’s new livery touched down in Sydney on Thursday morning. The New Caledonian airline’s newly-delivered Airbus A320, F-OZNC, entered service on Tuesday when it operated a return service between Noumea and Melbourne, and then returned to Australia on Thursday to operate Noumea-Sydney-Noumea-Brisbane-Noumea.
“The new livery is a blend of traditional symbols and innovative graphics, incorporating sculptural motifs inspired by Kanak art and stylised to create an overall design with an ultra-modern feel,” the airline said in a statement announcing the new livery last month.

F-OZNC is an ex-Jetstar aircraft (VH-VQD) leased from Aercap. It was prepared for Aircalin service by ST Aerospace in Singapore, where it was repainted in the new colours and configured with eight business and 150 economy class seats.
Aircalin says its two Airbus A330s will be repainted in the new colours as they undergo heavy maintenance between August and late October, while its second A320 will be repainted in 2015.
