Perth Airport has invited five companies to tender for a contract to construct the airport’s first new terminal in over 20 years, after an extensive Expression of Interest selection process was finalised.
Designed to primarily service flights for resource sector fly-in/fly-out operations and some interstate services, Perth Airport expects the new terminal to accommodate over a million passengers during its first year of operation in 2013. Choosing to go with a single story design, the new terminal will be located adjacent to the current International Terminal.

“Not only will these airlines and their passengers benefit greatly from the new terminal, but the move will also substantially reduce activity in the current domestic precinct, thereby improving our customers’ experiences in the existing terminals,” Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said.
“All airlines from the current Domestic Terminals, other than Virgin Blue, Qantas and Jetstar, will relocate to the new terminal when it opens in 2013.”
WAC’s tender will close on May 20, with the contract expected to be awarded by July this year.
