Polair Relocates

The NSW Police Air Wing (Polair) will relocate to Bankstown Airport early in the new financial year.

The Minister for Police signed the transfer papers on 3 May 1991, providing a lead time of 10-12 weeks. After occupying a portion of Hangar 13 (the old Ad Astra hangar) at Sydney Airport for a number of years, Polair’s new home will be the eastern end of Hangar 276 at Bankstown. The Wing’s fleet currently consists of three Bell 206B Jetrangers and a Squirrel. The latter is undergoing Phase II fittings which will enable it to receive all Police radio frequencies in western NSW.
