Jetstar Pacific hits difficulties with Vietnamese authorities

The smiles apparent at the launch of Jetstar Pacific in 2008 appear to have faded as the relationship between Qantas and the Vietnamese government appears to be turning from bad to worse.

The most dramatic turn in the now strained relationship emerged in late December when it was revealed that two Qantas Group employees on secondment to Jetstar Pacific – Chief Financial Officer Tristan Freeman and Chief Operating Officer Daniella Marsilli (formerly a managing director of National Jet Systems) – were prevented from leaving the country while an investigation into losses at the airline was underway.
