Cathay Pacific is launching its refreshed “Aria Suite” business class into Perth.
Starting 26 October, the carrier will operate its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ERs on selected CX171 and CX140 services between Perth and Hong Kong until 27 March next year. It comes amid celebrations of Cathay’s 80th anniversary this year.

“We’re thrilled to introduce our stunning Aria Suite Business class, all-new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy cabins to our customers travelling to and from Western Australia,” said Cathay’s regional general manager, Southeast Asia & Oceania, Aldric Chau.
“Perth holds a special place in our history – our very first Australian passenger route was from Perth to Hong Kong via Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
“Over 55 years on from that inaugural flight, we’re celebrating another special milestone of connecting Perth with our home hub in next-level comfort and refinement.
“Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to elevate the Business class experience. From the intuitive layout to our signature service, we want our customers to feel the difference that comes from genuine attention to detail – something that truly sets Cathay Pacific apart.”
The overhauled 777s include 45 flat-bed business-class Aria Suites in a 1-2-1 configuration, as well as 48 premium economy and 268 economy seats for a total of 361, with all three classes having been updated and a new in-flight entertainment system installed.
“The new cabin design and high-end fit-out are key elements of Cathay Pacific’s vision to become one of the world’s best premium airlines by enhancing its global offerings and providing customers with exceptional inflight comfort,” the airline said.
“It is all part of the around HK$150 billion being invested by the Cathay Group into its fleet, cabin products, airport lounges, and digital innovation.
“Over the next decade, Cathay Group aims to welcome 150 new aircraft to its fleet and reach a network of 150 destinations worldwide, if market conditions are favourable.”
The Commonwealth government in 2024 authorised increasing passenger capacity for Hong Kong to 84 flights per week, up from 70, and with no limits on cargo services.
