Indonesia AirAsia will ramp up Adelaide-Bali services to daily flights from March 22.
The low-cost carrier currently flies four times per week between Adelaide and Denpasar using its 180-seat A320-200 aircraft, and the daily services will “create more than 56,000 seats per year” through Adelaide. Bali is Adelaide’s largest and fastest-growing international destination.

“This service increase makes it easier for South Australians to travel to Bali, and to connect to Indonesia AirAsia’s formidable network throughout Southeast Asia and beyond including from Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Japan and India,” said Adelaide Airport executive general manager, corporate and general counsel, Alicia Bickmore.
“The connections via Bali are excellent, and it is very cost effective to continue on to other destinations such as Jakarta, Bangkok, Phuket and even Komodo Island. It also makes it easier for our strong Asian market to discover South Australia via a one-stop connection through Denpasar.
“Development of affordable travel is vital to the growth of our market and to achieving our ambitious network targets.”
According to Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, acting president director of Indonesia AirAsia, the expansion reflects the carrier’s “strong commitment to the Australian market and to Adelaide as a key gateway onto the AirAsia network”.
“This added capacity provides more choice, better value and greater flexibility for South Australians looking to holiday in Bali or connect onwards through our extensive network or more than 130 destinations,” he said.
The AirAsia increase comes after Adelaide saw more than 320,000 international passengers in the last three months of 2025, up 26 per cent over the previous year.
“Demand was particularly strong over the festive period with Adelaide Airport achieving the busiest day post-COVID in December,” the airport said in a statement.
“This performance was driven by the ongoing growth in international travel and significant network expansion, including the launch of United Airlines’ San Francisco service, Qantas’ Auckland services, Air New Zealand’s Christchurch flights, the return of Cathay Pacific, and the commencement of China Southern’s second season.
“At 31 December 2025, Adelaide Airport was served by 12 airlines across 11 international destinations. This will increase to 13 airlines to 12 destinations from mid-2026.”
