A tough little bird: Behind the Boomerang biography

Designed and built by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) in World War II, the Boomerang – Australia’s only home-grown WWII fighter – has largely faded into obscurity. In the last issue of Australian Aviation magazine, we presented an extract from historian Don Williams’ book The CAC Boomerang: Australia’s Own WWII Fighter, and this issue, we speak to Don about the true story of the Boomerang and how it played a vital effort in the war despite ignominious beginnings.
