Qatar Airways flight QR7424, on board the Boeing 777-300ER A7-BAL, touched down at around 6pm on Tuesday night having departed Dubai World Central Airport at 9:32pm local time. Of the 222 people on board the flight, 164 were Australian citizens.

The low-cost carrier says it is offering a bespoke booking service to groups of 10 passengers or more, providing quotes including 23kg checked baggage, 8kg hand luggage and ‘pick seats’.

In a post on LinkedIn, Tim Jordan posted a screenshot of high airfares between Sydney to Coffs Harbour and hit out at slot rules that are making it difficult for his airline to secure flights out of the NSW capital. 

The study, which combined GPS tracking with aerial drone surveys, found that mornings in the wet season and early evenings offered the best time to survey wild pig populations, with early evenings offering a detection probability of 50 to 75 per cent.

The firm, which plans to launch hundreds of satellites starting in 2025 to provide space-based VHF communications and surveillance for air traffic management, has received money from investors including Foresight Australia, Canada’s OPTrust, and Australian deep tech fund Main Sequence.

Chris Mills, who led the company that owns and operates Gold Coast, Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach Airports from 2015 to 2022, will take over as head of Sunshine Coast Airport, as well as Coffs Harbour Airport in NSW, on 20 November.
