How To Talk About Your COVID Redundancy
With thousands of job cuts caused by COVID now behind us, employees are having to answer the question, “What have you done with your time away?”
AVIATION IS on the up or the rebound, whatever you want to call it. We all knew it would come back, and what redundant, stood down or terminated employees have been doing during the last 2.5 years will be the first question o the rank in any aviation job interview.
How you handle this question will tell a prospective employer a lot about you as a person. If you accept that you are at the job interview because they know you have the qualifications, experience, or potential to do the job, then the issue interview panels are trying to resolve is: will this person fit our team and our culture? They find that out by asking behaviour-based questions because, quite simply, the best indication of how you will perform for them, is how you have performed in the past.
