The Future of Flight Simulation

Far from being games, flight simulators have been capturing the hearts and minds of passionate aviators for almost three decades. The joy of flying and seeing our world from above has been attracting humans for centuries, and with the help of technology it is now quite affordable to most – even more so with recent advances in mobile technology and game streaming. To experience flight, you no longer need to invest many thousands of dollars just to take off.
The developers of flight simulators have been mostly constrained by hardware and processing power, but as better components become more affordable and better performing, the potential of flight sim to be a truly immersive experience exponentially increases. The recently launched Microsoft Flight Simulator has raised the bar (and the excitement!) around flight simming, extending its reach beyond the usual aviation fanatics, while providing the ground for further development of a digital twin of the world. We believe there is a fantastic pathway to enriching the basic out-of-the-box simulator content with a selection of handmade artifacts, allowing the development community to flourish.
