The COVID Crunch: Changing environments and trends in aviation operators, with Oceania Aviation

The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly changed the operating environment for aviation operators – dramatically, and in more ways than one. From an ongoing supply chain crunch, to adapting to the infamous ‘new normal’, the needs of operators have, and will continue to constantly evolve. To learn more, Australian Aviation sat down with Oceania Aviation’s head of operations Grant Crenfeldt and head of supply chain Dwayne McCalman.

As an MRO provider for both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, Oceania Aviation works with a range of operators across New Zealand, Australia, and throughout the world. “We work primarily with flight training facilities for our fixed-wing operations, as well as EMS operators, and then work with a diverse range of industries on the rotary side, from single-aircraft operators through to companies with fleets of 15 to 20 helicopters,” explains Crenfeldt. “We provide our customers with aircraft maintenance, modifications, avionics, we supply parts, do engine overhauls, blade overhauls, everything from nose to tail basically. We also have aircraft sales and parts trading divisions, as well as a small fleet of aircraft that we lease out.”
