Humans were not meant to fly, let alone fly at 200kts, 30 feet above the ground or an ocean. In the Red Bull Air Race, that is exactly what we are doing and we’re doing it all in the pursuit of standing atop the podium on race day.
It’s fast, furious, exciting and to be the best you need to be operating at the absolute limit. On the surface, this sort of aviation defies everything that is taught to pilots in training, it goes against the grain of flying in a way so that you eliminate the chances of something going wrong.
