USQ’s aviation experience days
The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) has promoted the opportunities offered by a career in aviation to high school students with a two-day camp on July 12-13 for 24 Years 11 and 12 students.
The experience days allowed students to get a taste of a booming aviation industry. They were handed the controls of the University’s Boeing 737 flight simulator at its Springfield campus and experienced educational workshops into aviation career opportunities. Guest speakers included QantasLink chief pilot Captain Adrian Young, Alliance Airlines chief pilot Rick Heaton (profiled elsewhere this issue – ed) and female pilot Tamara Vessi who shared their insights and views with students.
