China’s demand that airlines refer to Taiwan as part of China
What’s in a name? An awful lot, according to the powers that be in Beijing.
China’s ongoing insistence that Taiwan is part of its bamboo empire and integral to its sovereign territory has been unchanged since Chiang Kai-shek led his defeated Republic of China army into exile on their beleaguered island in 1949.
