New Spitfire for Australia
A new Spitfire has arrived in Australia. The aircraft is an Mk.XVIe, serial TE392.
Bought by Fighter Pilot Adventure Flights of Brisbane the aircraft has been under a 10 years restoration program with the Lone Star Flight Museum at Houston, Texas. The museum obtained the aircraft in 1996 and put it back into the air complete with a high back replacing the previous bubble canopy. Flown again at Bartow, Florida on December 24 1999 with US registration N97RW. It was damaged by Hurricane Ike on September 13 2008.
