Qantas drops Dubai as it plots an ultra long-haul future

When Qantas’s final service from Dubai takes off in late March 2018, it will represent the first time in roughly five years since the Australian flag carrier dropped an international destination from its route network.

It was April 2013 when Qantas withdrew from Frankfurt as part of its restructuring efforts that led to a global alliance with Emirates, the repositioning towards Asia and the start of establishment of Dubai as its European hub.
