Business jets makers eyeing government VIP fleet opportunity
In addition to wooing high net worth individuals and large corporations on the benefits of having their own aircraft to go where they want when they want, business jet manufacturers are closely watching what the federal government intends to do with its VIP fleet.
Currently, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) 34 Squadron operates two leased Boeing Business Jets (specially configured Boeing 737s) and three Bombardier Challenger 604 aircraft from Fairbairn Defence Establishment at Canberra Airport.
