ICAO’s new global aviation security plan

When the world’s leading aviation security experts gathered in Kuala Lumpur in late October for their big annual gathering, the International Air Transport Association’s AVSEC World conference, they had much to ponder. Since their talkfest in Dublin a year earlier new threats had emerged to the safety of air travellers, not the least being suicide bombings at Brussels and Istanbul airports and the downing of a Russian jet over Egypt by an explosive device apparently smuggled aboard by an airport worker.
