Most 18-year olds are at the first major crossroad of their lives. With their schooldays now behind them and their whole life stretching ahead of them, it can be a daunting time, to say the least.

But Lachie Smart is not your ordinary 18-year old. While his contemporaries were pondering their new directions, Lachie had already been focused on his path for well over two years. He had decided to begin his life’s journey with a huge first step – flying solo around the world in a single-engine aircraft.
