Mustang, Hurricane on the move
North American P-51D Mustang VH-FST had its overhauled engine installed into the airframe at Parafield, South Australia on November 28, and after ground running checks the aircraft departed for Temora and later its new home base, Scone, NSW on December 9. Steve Death was the pilot.
Meanwhile the CC&F built Hawker Hurricane Mk.XII, VH-JFW, has been moved from Luskintyre, where it had fuselage fabric and wood work carried out, back to Scone. With two Mustangs, a Hawker Hurricane and possibly a new Spitfire import warbird plus the Spitfire rebuild underway activity around Scone looks good.
