Traffic

A330-202 VH-EBK (Traffic/October) arrived back in Brisbane from Singapore in the early hours of September 10 as QF6010 after repainting from Jetstar to Qantas colours. It returned to Qantas service on September 12 when it operated QF501 from Brisbane to Sydney.

767-338ER VH-OGQ, which has been in storage at Victorville since 18 February ’14, was cancelled from the Australian register on September 17. The following day the 767 was registered N198CR to the Wells Fargo Bank in Salt Lake City.

767-338ER VH-OGU, which had been in storage at Alice Springs since January 9, departed there on October 2 for Cairns as QF6027. After overnighting it continued as QF6027 to Victorville.

767-338ER VH-OGP, which was registered N197CR on August 20 (Traffic/October), will be converted to a freighter along with VH-OGQ and VH-OGU, reportedly for operation with SF Airlines of Shenzhen, China.

A380-842 VH-OQK ferried from Manila to Sydney as QF6017 on September 11 on completion of planned maintenance.

A380-842 VH-OQF departed Sydney for Manila as QF6018 on September 13 for planned maintenance.

QantasLink ferried Fokker 100 VH-NHC into Wagga Wagga from Seletar via Darwin and Alice Springs on October 5, still carrying the basic colours of its previous operator Avianca Brazil. VH-NHC was then repainted in QantasLink colours.

Network Aviation Fokker 100 VH-NHK ferried from Perth to Alice Springs and Townsville on September 15 and on arrival it entered the Flying Colours hangar where it was repainted in QantasLink colours. VH-NHK returned to Perth on September 21 from Townsville and Alice Springs.

Network Aviation Fokker 100 VH-NHV ferried from Perth toAlice Springs and Townsville on September 23 and on arrival it entered the Flying Colours hangar where it was repainted in QantasLink colours. VH-NHV returned to Perth on September 29 from Townsville and Alice Springs.

Network Aviation Fokker 100 VH-NHG returned to Perth on September 5 from Seletar and Port Hedland after completing planned maintenance.

Network Aviation Fokker 100 VH-NQE departed Perth on September 12 for Port Hedland and Seletar for planned maintenance.

Jetstar took delivery 787-8 VHVKL in Melbourne in the early hours of September 7 after a ferry flight from Paine Field as JQ7992.

VH-VKL was the eleventh and final 787-8 on order for Jetstar and entered service on September 12, initially ferrying from Melbourne to Sydney as JQ7992 prior to operating JQ37 from Sydney to Denpasar.

Jetstar operated its final A330 service on September 24 when A330-202 VH-EBE operated JQ6 from Honolulu to Brisbane (arriving September 25). VH‑EBE then entered Brisbane’s Hangar 3 where it is currently being prepared for entry into service with Qantas.

Jetstar Dash 8-315 VH-SBI (Traffic/October) ferried from Cairns to Brisbane as QF6713 on September 10.

Dash 8-315 VH-TQD, which now carries the colours of Jetstar (Traffic/October), was ferried from Townsville to Cairns as QF6670 on September 17.

Dash 8-315 VH-TQL, which now carries the colours of Jetstar (Traffic/October), was ferried from Townsville to Cairns as QF6714 on September 5. After completing maintenance VH-TQL ferried from Cairns to Brisbane as QF6675 on September 23.

Airline news

This issue we report the deliveries of an A320 to Air New Zealand and a Fokker 70 to Air Niugini and the departures of a 737-300 from Air New Zealand and a Beech 1900D from Air New Zealand Link.

Air New Zealand took deliveryof A320-232/S ZK-OXK in Auckland on September 9 (Traffic/October) and placed the aircraft into service on September 15 when it operated NZ449 from Auckland to Wellington.

737-319 ZK-NGJ, which was withdrawn from service on August 10 (Traffic/October), has been sold. With its Air New Zealand titles and Koru removed ZK-NGJ was ferried by Southern Cross as SXI1528 from Auckland to Seletar via Cairns and Lombok, departing September 20 and arriving September 21. See Nauru Airlines below for further news on this aircraft.

737-319 ZK-NGI operated the final service by type for Air New Zealand on September 6 (Traffic/October). The aircraft then toured the country operating a number of local flights for Air New Zealand staff and friends. ZK-NGI departed Christchurch as NZ1737 on September 8 and visited Invercargill, Dunedin, Wellington, New Plymouth, Tauranga and Auckland before returning to Christchurch on September 21.

The ownership of Air New Zealand Link/Eagle Airways Beech 1900D ZK-EAI changed toMesiglo of Lanseria, South Africa on September 21. On September 23 the Beech departed Hamilton for Norfolk Island, Brisbane and Alice Springs and onward ferry to South Africa.

Air Niugini took delivery of its second Fokker 70, P2-ANS, at Port Moresby on October 3 after the aircraft ferried in from Seletar via Denpasar and Darwin as PX6397.

Alliance Airlines ferried Fokker 100 VH-FKC into Perth from Halim as SXI1525 on September 7 after completing planned maintenance in Bratislava.

Fokker 100 VH-XWT departed Perth for Halim on September 8 as SXI1524 on ferry to Bratislava (arrive September 10) for planned maintenance.

Fokker 100 VH-XWO arrived in Perth from Bratislava via Halim as SXI1527 on September 22 after completing planned maintenance.

Fokker 100 VH-XWR departed Perth for Halim on September 23 on ferry to Bratislava for planned maintenance.

Nauru Airlines registered 737-319 VH-XNU msn 25609 on September 29, the former ZK-NGJ with Air New Zealand.

Virgin Group news

Virgin Australia, which took delivery of 737-8FE/W VH-YFT Admirals Arch on September 4 (Traffic/October), placed the aircraft into service on September 16 when it operated VOZ916 from Brisbane to Sydney.

737-8FE/W VH-YFU Emu Bay was planned for delivery to Virgin Australia in October.

737-8BK VH-VUN, which has been in storage at Melbourne since March 20, departed for Jakarta on September 15 as VOZ9941 for end of lease maintenance.

VH-VUN Madelaide was originally delivered to Christchurch on November 11 ’07 carrying the colours of Pacific Blue.

737-8BK VH-VUM, which departed Melbourne for Jakarta on August 2 (Traffic/October) for end of lease maintenance, has been delivered to the South Korean operator T’way Airlines. The 737 ferried from Jakarta to Gimpo on delivery to T’way on September 29, now registered HL8047.

737-8FE VH-VOP as VOZ9942 returned to Perth from Seletar on September 19 on completion ofplanned maintenance.

E190-100IGW VH-ZPO departed Brisbane on September 18 as VOZ9901 for Apia, Honolulu and Van Nuys to Nashville for planned maintenance.

Tigerair ferried A320-232 VH-XUG from Melbourne to Darwin and Seletar as TGW9002 on September 7 for planned maintenance.

Regional airline news

In this issue we report the delivery of a DHC-6-400/FP to Kokomo Resorts and a King Air 350 to the RFDS/Queensland.

Air Calin ferried DHC-6-300 F-OCQZ Ville de Paris into Cairns from Noumea, Santos, Honiara, Buka and Port Moresby on October 1 for planned maintenance.

Air Chathams became the registered owner of Metro III ZK‑LFT on September 14, however in early October the aircraft was noted at Auckland being reduced to spares.

Kokomo Resorts took delivery of DHC-6-400/FP C-FVGY at Nadi on September 5 after the aircraft ferried in from Guam, Chuuk and Honiara. The aircraft was planned to be registered to Kokomo Resorts as DQ-OMO. Originair added Jetstream 32 ZK-ECI to its fleet in September.

RFDS/Queensland registered King Air 350 VH-FDF msn FM- 63 on August 31 and on September 22 it was delivered to Cairns from Lombok and Darwin.

Solomon Airlines ferried DHC‑6-300 H4-SID into Cairns from Honiara and Gurney on September 29 for planned maintenance.

Bizjet news

This issue we report the deliveries of a Global 6000, a Learjet 60, a Citation Bravo and a Citation I, and the departure of a Gulfstream V. Global 6000 VH-IEJ msn 9680 was delivered to Sydney from Kona on October 4 after being registered on October 1 to the Bank of Utah in Salt Lake City with the operator ExecuJet Australia of Mascot.

Learjet 60 VH-XPN msn 290 was registered on October 1 with the holder Norris Aviation of Nundah, Queensland and the operator Avcair of Hamilton, Queensland. VH-XPN was delivered to Brisbane from Palau and Cairns on October 5.

Citation Bravo VH-EYJ, which was registered on August 12 (Traffic/October), was delivered to Essendon on September 29 after arriving from Hawaii, Christmas Island, Pago Pago, Noumea and Sydney.

Citation I N501AF msn 501-0139 arrived in Darwin from Lombok on October 3 after departing the northeastern US on September 27.

Crown Melbourne Gulfstream V VH-CCC was cancelled from the register on September 16 after being sold in the US. The same day the Gulfstream was registered N280PH to Global Services of Detroit.

Pacific Jets Citation CJ4 ZK‑PGA changed its registration to ZK-OCB on October 5.

Citation CJ2 VH-MOR changed its owner/operator on September 18 to G K Invest Company ofMooloolaba, Queensland.

Citation Latitude N685CL arrived at Sydney from Seletar and Darwin on October 7 to start a demonstration tour of Australia.

The contract that saw Pel-Air operate a number of bizjet aircraft for the ADF from Nowra was taken over by Air Affairs (Australia) on October 1. As a result Pel-Air then ferried a number of aircraft to Wagga Wagga for storage and noted there in late September were Westwind Is VH-AJG, VH-AJJ, VH-AJV, VH-KNS and VH‑KNU; Learjet 36s VH-SLF and VH-SLJ and Learjet 35As VH-SLD and VH-SLE.

In propjet news King Air 350 N871EU msn FL-871 arrived at Bankstown on October 7 from Denpasar, Broome and Alice Springs at the start of a demonstration tour.

King Air C90GTi N298KA (Traffic/October) has continued its demonstration tour of Australia with the aircraft noted at Adelaide, Albury, Archerfield, Bankstown, Canberra, Essendon, Kalgoorlie, Maroochydore, Mount Gambier, Orange, Perth, Tamworth, Townsville, Wagga Wagga and Warnambool. It departed Perth onOctober 2 for Port Hedland and Surabaya on termination of its tour.

PC-12/47E VH-PIL was registered on September 9 with the holder Pilatus Australia of Adelaide Airport and the operator Pegasus Air of Kent Town, South Australia. VH-PIL was delivered to Adelaide on September 23 after ferrying in from Lombok and Broome.

Gulfstreams galore

Gulfstream 550 N344RS arrived in Sydney from Wellington on October 5.

American Express Gulfstream 550 N559X arrived in Sydney from Honolulu on September 9 and departed to Haneda on September 13.

Gulfstream 550 N550PR departed Brisbane for Denpasar on September 15.

TAI Leasing Gulfstream 550 N803TM arrived at Essendon from Nagoya on September 8 before returning there on September 10.

Gulfstream 550 B-KHJ arrived in Sydney from Beijing on September 29 before continuing to Hamilton Island and Mackay on September 30. It departed the Gold Coast for Sydney on October 3 before continuing to Manila on September 5.

State of Johor Gulfstream 550 9M-TMJ arrived in Perth from Johor Bahru on August 29 before returning there on September 8.

Gulfstream V N371JC arrived in Sydney from Seletar on October 5 and departed to Singapore on October 7.

Saudi Medevac Gulfstream V HZ-MS5A arrived in Melbourne from Subang on September 20 before returning there on September 22.

Deer Jet Gulfstream 450 B-8278 which carried Great Town and Holdings titles arrived in Sydney from Shanghai and Darwin on September 12. As DER503 the Gulfstream 450 departed Sydney on September 14 for Darwin and Fuzhou, China.

Gulfstream 450 B-8308 arrived in Sydney from Manado on September 8 before continuing to Melbourne on September 11. It departed Melbourne for Manado on September 12.

Assett Trend Gulfstream 450 M-PING arrived in Sydney from Singapore on September 27 and departed to Darwin and Hong Kong on October 2.

United States of America Gulfstream V/C-37A 01-0065callsign ‘Spar 65’ arrived in Sydney from Darwin on October 5.

US Marines Gulfstream IV/ C‑20G 165153 callsign ‘Ghost 53’ arrived in Sydney from Darwin on October 5.

Tony Robbins Productions Global Express N304CC arrived in Sydney from Nadi on September 23 and departed to Cairns and Chennai on September 27.

Outpost International Global Express N416BD arrived in Sydney from Darwin on September 11 before departing for Adelaide on September 18. It returned to Sydney on September 22 before departing to Perth and Mauritius on September 24.

TAG Aviation Global Express G-GOYA arrived in Sydney from Halim on September 20 before continuing to Brisbane on September 23. It departed Brisbane for Ayers Rock and Hamilton Island on September 23 before continuing to Darwin and Singapore on September 26.

NetJets Global 6000 N142QSarrived in Cairns from Honolulu on September 30 before visiting Mackay and Hamilton Island. It departed Cairns for Honolulu on October 2.

Global 6000 N68889 arrived in Melbourne from Hong Kong on October 2 before returning to Hong Kong on October 5.

TAG Aviation Asia Global 6000 VP-CZL as TBJ67 arrived at Hamilton Island on September 30 from Hong Kong and Townsville.

VP-CZL continued to Sydney on October 2 and Melbourne on October 4.

Global 5000 N2QE arrived in Sydney from Hong Kong on September 14 before continuing to the Gold Coast on September 17. It departed the Gold Coast for Seletar on September 18.

Falcon 900LX VQ-BNH arrived in Melbourne from Hong Kong and Darwin on September 30 before continuing to Sydney on October 1.

Beijing Capital Airlines Falcon 900EX B-8212 arrived in Cairns from Seletar on September 21 and departed to Sydney on September 24. It departed Sydney for Melbourne on September 27 before continuing to Auckland on September 30.

Embraer Lineage 1000 N666GL arrived in Sydney from Honolulu and Pago Pago on September 25 and after overnighting continuedto Hamilton Island. It departed Hamilton Island on October 3 for Sydney, Darwin and Beijing.

Embraer Legacy 600 N127BG arrived in Sydney from Denpasar on September 27 before continuing to Melbourne on September 29.

N127BG departed Melbourne for Perth on September 30 and Perth for Halim on October 1.

Ferry flights

AT-802A N3079T msn 802A- 0612 and AT-802 N3080T msn 802A-0614 arrived at Ballarat on September 28 after ferrying across the Pacific from Santa Maria via Hilo, Majuro, Honiara and Brisbane.

AT-802A N30723 msn 802A- 0594, which was ferried by SRD Aviation of Albury, arrived at the Gold Coast on October 5 from Brinkley, Arkansas via Santa Maria, Honolulu, Majuro and, Honiara. The Air Tractor, which was destined for Scone, will be fitted there with floats for operation from Albury during the 2015/16 bushfire season.

AT-802A VH-ZIN, which is registered to Zinjune P/L of St George, Queensland, departed Broome for Halim on September 17.

Beech F33A VH-ZBZ departed Bankstown for Lord Howe Island on September 20 and after overnighting continued to Norfolk Island. It departed Norfolk Island for Tama on September 22.

Helicopters (NZ) Bell 412EP ZKHDY was noted at Archerfield on September 16 before ferrying from Cairns to Cooktown on September 21. It arrived at Kopi, PNG on September 22 and was cancelled from the New Zealand register on September 29.

Botswana Defence Force (Air Wing) Bell 412SP OH-4 was noted test flying from the Helitek hangar at Brisbane Airport on September 3.

Cirrus SR22 N411WF arrived at Auckland on September 14 from Honolulu and Pago Pago.

EC130 B4 ZK-IDN was noted at Essendon in early September and was still resident at the end of the month. The EC130 carries the markings ‘Super Black Racing’. PAC 750XL ZK-KNR msn 199 which departed Hamilton on September 12 on ferry to Qingdao via the Gold Coast, Longreach, Darwin, Manado and Laoag on delivery to the Beijing General Aviation Company.

The ferry flight was operated by SRD Aviation of Albury.

PAC 750XL ZK-KNO msn 196, which was cancelled from the New Zealand register on July 2, was registered B-10CV to Hubei Tongcheng General Aviation on July 17. PA-31-325 VH-OOI ex ZKNOW departed Ardmore for Kerikeri and Norfolk Island on September 18 before continuing to Lord Howe Island and Bankstown on September 23. It departed Bankstown for Adelaide on September 24 before continuing to Ceduna on September 25.

Heavy metal

RAAF C-27J A34-002 callsign ‘ASY692’ was delivered to RAAF Richmond on September 16 with the aircraft ferrying in from Misawa via Guam, Port Moresby and Townsville. The C-27J was accompanied on its ferry flight round the North Pacific by RAAF C-130J A97-468 callsign ‘ASY634’.

Singapore Airlines 777-212ER 9V-SVD ferried into Alice Springs from Singapore on September 8 and on arrival was placed in storage.

RAF Boeing C-17A ZZ173 arrived in Brisbane from Butterworth on September 13 and after overnighting operated a return flight to Hobart. It departedBrisbane for Paya Lebar on September 15.

JASDF KC-767J 87-3602 callsign ‘JF404’ arrived at Richmond from Amberley on September 15 before continuing to Williamtown on September 17. It departed Williamtown for Amberley and Nagoya on September 18.

Thomson 757-28A/W G-OOBF as TOM980 arrived in Adelaide from Nuku’alofa on September 1 and departed to Jakarta on September 5.

Icelandair 757-27B TF‑FIW as ICE1402 which carried Abercrombie & Kent titles arrived in Sydney from Apia on September 26 and departed to Darwin and Siem Reap on September 29.

Beijing Airlines 737-79L/BBJ B-3999 arrived at Cairns from Beijing as BJN99 on September 29 before returning there on October 4. Nanshan Jet 737-7GJ/BBJ B-5286 arrived in Sydney from Canton on September 8 before continuing to Canberra on September 15. It departed Canberra for Sydney on September 16 and returned to Canton on September 18.

Boeing 737-7BC N835BA arrived in Brisbane on September 28 before continuing to Canberra on September 29. It departed Canberra for Singapore on September 30.

Air Philippines Dash 8-Q314 RPC3020 arrived in Cairns from Ambon and Darwin on September 29.

China United CRJ200BLR B-4007 arrived at Essendon for planned maintenance on September 19 from Kota Kinabalu, Darwin and Cairns.

Dornier 328-100/C-146As 12‑3050 callsign ‘Magma 01’ and 09-3106 callsign ‘Magma 03’ arrived in Sydney from Ambon, Darwin and Mount Isa on September 7 before continuing to Christchurch the following day.

Both aircraft departed Christchurch for Sydney on September 10 before continuing to Mount Isa and Darwin on September 11 and Denpasar on September 13.

Omni Air DC-10-30 N612AX Southern Belle arrived at Brisbane on September 28 from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Honolulu and Pago Pago. The DC‑10, which will operate as ‘Tanker 910’, carries NSW Rural Fire Service titles. The following day N612AX continued to RAAF Richmond where it will be based for first half of the 2015/2016 bushfire season (see feature elsewhere this issue).

Erickson Aircrane S-64E N189AC/748 arrived at Essendon from the Melbourne docks on September 21 and the following morning departed on ferry to Bankstown.
