The Raaf’s Air Mobility Revolution
The forthcoming arrival in Australia of the RAAF’s first two Alenia Aermacchi/L-3 COM C-27J Spartan tactical airlifters will be the latest step in a transformational period for the ADF’s air transport force.
The first two C-27Js are expected to arrive at their temporary home of RAAF Richmond near Sydney in April and May where they will commence a local operational test and evaluation phase which will include load clearance and carriage trials with the Richmondbased Air Movements Training and Development Unit (AMTDU).
