NUSQN 725 – due to commission as 725SQN in 2015 – was established at the US Navy’s Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida in February 2013, charged with the responsibility of becoming the Fleet Air Arm’s MH-60R Seahawk ‘Romeo’ training unit. Less than 12 months later the first of 24 MH‑60Rs on order for the RAN was ceremonially handed over to the Navy in December 2013 and entered service with NUSQN 725 at Jacksonville in January 2014.
