Virgin Australia has fleet options where Qantas does not
The tale of the Qantas fleet plan possibly reflects two starkly contrasting aircraft purchases.
In the 1950s and early ’60s, such was the popularity of the Vickers Viscount it kept British European Airways in profit despite losses on all other types across its vast fleet. In fact the Viscount was so popular with passengers that Air France was forced to buy British.
